The Art of Bespoke Furniture

This desk had to fit underneath the eave of the two skylights and in between cupboards at either end of the room.

The desk surface is made from Forbo, a material which is easy to keep clean due to its naturally anti-static surface. The desk and drawers are edged in oak matching the tones of the floor and windows, creating a pleasing contrast to the duck egg blue used on the surface and drawer fronts, which was also chosen as a subtle contrast to the lighter colour of the walls. The drawers have concealed handles at the sides and feature removable oak trays inside each of them. The unit to the right of the desk, following the same style, was made for the printer featuring one large drawer and an open shelf for accessories. The desk may look like a relatively simple design, what counts is how well it fits not how fancy it looks.
